Exam Sessions
Listed below are information on local VE test sessions.

The FHARA Association VE Team
The FHARA VE ARRL Team will conduct a test session by appointment at the Herkimer County 911 Center located off Lou Ambers Drive adjacent to the Herkimer County Community College campus. Talk-in on the 145.110 repeater PL 167.9. TESTING IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. NO WALK-INS. Call Hank KB2VLP at 823-2993 or Chris KB4CMF at 429-3927 for more information and registration. The test fee is currently set at $15.00.
Please bring two (2) forms of I.D. (one with a photo); original AND a photocopy of current ham license (if any); original AND photocopies of any Certificates of Successful Completion of an Exam (CSCE) element; and blue or black ink pen and a pencil.
Testing will begin promptly at 6:30 - please try not to be late. Instructions are given prior to the start time. So, if you arrive late you may disrupt those already testing.
At this time tests will be conducted quarterly - unless there is a greater demand for more.
The
Rome Radio Club VE Team
The Rome Radio Club VE team
conducts examinations on the first Friday of every month at the Oneida County
Cooperative Extension Office located at the Oneida County airport. Sessions
start at 7 pm. A pre-registration of 5 days in advance is required. Contact Bill Effland (K2GVI) at 315-853-5700 for information and registration. Any person
who qualifies for a handicap waiver or needs special accommodations to be tested
should contact Bill to make a special appointment. The test fee is currently set
at $15.00.
The
Madison Oneida ARC VE
The Madison Oneida ARC VE team conducts
examinations on the third Friday of each month at the Madison Oneida BOCES
complex on Spring Rd in Verona NY. Contact Bill Mayers (KG2DI) at

Oneonta
Amateur Radio Club VE
Cooperstown - at the EOC at 6 pm in Cooperstown.
Oneonta - at the Telecenter at the corner
of Main and South Main Streets in Oneonta at 254 Main St at 6 pm on Jul 28th and
Oct 27th in Oneonta. Test fee is $15, walk-ins are OK (but calling ahead to be
sure session is on is a good idea), IDs and copy of license (if upgrading) are
required, and any talk-in will be on the 146.850 or 146.640 repeaters. Contact

Camillus
VE Group
The Camillus VE Group (W5YI-VEC) holds Amateur Radio exam sessions on the first Thursday of every month (see schedule below). Walk-in applicants are accepted and the site is handicapped accessible.

Schoharie County A.R.A. and the Cotton Hill VHF Group
Exam sessions are each even numbered month on the fourth Monday. Exams are held at the St. Catherine’s Church Hall, Main Street and Wells Ave, Middleburgh. Park on the Church side of Wells Ave or in the Church Lot, located on Wells Ave, one door up Wells from the Church, next to the Rectory. Walk-ins are welcome, reservations are nice. Doors open approx. 6:30 PM, testing starts at 7:00 PM.
